Grassroots Fundraising
The Grassroots Fundraising site has
fundraising suggestions for small
community organizations and a large
archive of articles from their magazine.
Grantproposal.com
This site takes you through the entire
proposal process from letters of inquiry
to full proposals and includes tips from
funders and advice on how your proposal
will be received.
Council on Foundations
A national association of grantmakers
devoted to promoting and enhancing
responsible philanthropy. To access
information about community foundations,
quick link to Community Foundation
Services/Community Foundation Locator.
The map there will lead you to a
community foundation in your area.
European Foundation Centre
An extensive list of funding
organizations in many European
countries. Funders' Web sites are easily
accessed through EFC Members.
The Foundation Center
Just about everything you need to know
about foundations in the United States
is here. Its "Finding Funders" section
contains links to hundreds of corporate
and foundation sites. Their
Philanthropy News Digest has news
and reports on current items in
philanthropy drawn from a variety of
sources.
FundsnetServices
Full of information about philanthropic
issues, funding sources, proposal
writing, publications and other tips for
fundraisers. Click on the
"International" box on the home page to
bring up a list of foundations and other
funders to make grants to organizations
doing international work.
The Grantmanship Center
A national organization providing
training for fundraisers, maintaining
extensive information on sources of
funding and publishing a free newsletter
for fundraisers. Check out their links
to federal grants and funding sources,

Useful information on numerous
development topics like grant-writing,
fundraising, finding in-kind donations

Nonprofit University (Aspen
Publishers)
This site features information on
numerous books of interest to those in
the nonprofit world, including topics
like fundraising and nonprofit
administration. The books and other
information can be ordered online.
There are also a number of
publications that could help you and
your organization in your search for

The Chronicle of Philanthropy
A newspaper published every two weeks,
it addresses issues in philanthropy,
lists current grants from foundations
and corporations, jobs and other
important information about
philanthropy.
Guide to Grantseeking on the Web,
by the Foundation Center (The Foundation
Center: 2001) The book has instructions
for finding useful sites as well as tips
for navigating them and finding the
information you need. Also contains
thumbnail sketches and Web site
addresses for hundreds of private
foundations, grantmaking public
charities, and corporate grantmakers.
Successful Corporate Fund Raising,
by K. Scott Sheldon (John Wiley & Sons:
2000) An excellent introduction to
researching, cultivating and soliciting
corporations for contributions to your
organization.
Writing for a Good Cause by
Joseph Barbato and Danielle S. Furlich
(Fireside, Simon & Schuster: 2000)
A sometimes irreverent, but highly
useful guide to writing proposals, case
statements and reports-or anything else,
for that matter.
