Federal
grant opportunities
Federal government agencies may be a
source of funds for some local programs, but there is a
considerable amount of research, preparation and
paperwork involved in submitting a federal proposal. The
sites below list grants currently available from federal
government agencies.
Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA)
A database of all federal programs with funding
available to nonprofit organizations, as well as state
and local governments and other institutions. The
section titled "Writing Grant Proposals" is a
comprehensive overview of the elements of a well-crafted
federal agency proposal. Review this section prior to
preparing a proposal for any federal agency. Under
"Applying for Assistance" you will find a step-by-step
sequence for the federal grant application process.

This Web site allows the researcher to find grant
opportunities from all federal government agencies.
