We want them to help themselves, put a little
hope in their lives, get them back on their feet and do it with dignity.
Will you help us?
Lend a helping hand. Years after the tsunami (How can we forget?),
earthquakes, mudslides and other
disasters in Asia, thousands of
victims are still walking around in utter hopelessness. Your help is
needed now, more than ever. Thousands of children have been left orphaned
or homeless. People have lost, not only their loved ones, but their
homes and means of livelihood as well.
We surveyed our members in Asia. Here are what they need most:
1. Assistance in putting their business back together. They need both
expertise and capital.
2. Schools, books and school supplies for the little ones. Food and
medicine for the hungry and the sick.
3. Training for local counselors. The grief has not subsided. So many
people are contemplating taking their own lives. "What have I to live
for"? they ask.
4. Training on how to cope with similar disasters in the future.
5. More tourists. Tourism is the number one dollar earner in these
areas.
PLEASE HELP US HELP THESE PEOPLE IN NEED.
Here's how:
1. Join a Helping Hands Mission.
People who are able to spend more time in one country are encouraged
to do so. We will make arrangements for your extended stay.
We need doctors, nurses, counselors, trainers, educators, business
consultants, assistants and others. Click here for the application form
97% of the funds we are raising will go to programs so you will need
to pay for your travel. However, we are negotiating special deeply
discounted airfare and hotel rates. In some communities, some of our
partners may be able to host your accommodations in their homes.
Email Laura Cheng for updates
2. If you can, donate cash. It is what is most needed.

All of us have merchandise that we purchased, perhaps in our travels,
perhaps locally but never used. Donate them and get a tax deduction. If
you work with a hotel, airline, travel agent or tour operator, ask for a
donation of a vacation package. If you are a speaker, consultant or
trainer, donate your time and knowledge; if you are an author, donate
your books, if you are an artist, donate your art. It is a great way to
promote your product or service while at the same time helping people in
need.
